Big News: Amy Has Officially Passed Her Osteopathy Clinical Competency Assessment

We’re excited to share some fantastic news — Amy has successfully passed her Osteopathy Clinical Competency Assessment (CCA)!

This is one of the most significant milestones in an Osteopath’s training journey and represents the final practical examination before becoming eligible to register as an Osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).

And for all of us at City Way, this means something even more exciting…

Amy will soon be making the transition from one of our familiar Reception Team members to joining the clinic as an Osteopath.

A Passion That Started Early

Amy shares:

"From a young age, I’ve always been fascinated by the human body and loved problem solving. Osteopathy allows me to combine those passions while helping people better understand their own bodies and supporting them throughout their treatment journey."

So, What Is the CCA?

The CCA is far more than just another exam.

It’s a rigorous, hands-on assessment designed to ensure future Osteopaths are prepared for real clinical practice and capable of delivering safe, professional patient care.

During the assessment, candidates are evaluated on their ability to:

  • Carry out detailed patient assessments

  • Diagnose a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions

  • Create safe and effective treatment plans

  • Demonstrate skilled hands-on techniques

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients

  • Recognise when referral or further investigation is needed

  • Deliver safe, evidence-informed care under pressure

Passing the CCA reflects not only strong clinical knowledge but also the confidence, professionalism, and decision-making skills needed to support patients effectively.

Months (and Years) of Hard Work

Achievements like this don’t happen overnight.

Behind every successful result are years of study, practical training, clinical placements, revision, and a huge amount of dedication.

The CCA is widely recognised as one of the most challenging stages of Osteopathic training, making this an accomplishment that truly deserves celebrating.

Amy has worked incredibly hard to reach this point and we’re delighted to see that commitment rewarded.

What This Means for Our Patients

Amy’s successful completion of the CCA reflects her ability to assess, diagnose, and support patients with professionalism, confidence, and compassion.

As she moves towards full registration with the General Osteopathic Council, we’re excited to see her continue developing her career and helping people move better, recover well, and enjoy healthier, more active lives.

A huge congratulations to Amy from everyone at City Way — we’re incredibly proud and excited for everything that comes next.
