• New Pilates Instructor joins the City Way team

City Way expand their team of Pilates Instructors due to growing demand for classes

We are excited to welcome a new Pilates Instructor to the team due to increasing interest in the classes we offer.

Susan Chester came to pilates after battling with a chronic sciatic pain caused by a hip and hamstring injury. In 2020 Susan found that regular Pilates practice helped her to understand the source of pain in her body and gave her a big step towards being able to treat it.

Following her own journey of discovery, Susan became passionate about Pilates, and in 2021 she trained with Polestar Pilates UK so that she could further her knowledge and understand why this was helping her so much. Since then, Susan has also gone on to complete the Polestar Pilates Reformer Level 3 training and is mid way through her Polestar Pilates Comprehensive training (Full Equipment).

Working as a hairdresser for many years, Susan completely understands which parts of the body become tense, underused and, for many, a source of constant pain. In her group classes, Susan loves to focus on undoing incorrect postures and improve every day movements for a better quality of life.

By building awareness of postural habits and doing exercises to combat this, Susan loves to help her clients feel a real sense of achievement after every class.

Susan leads an active lifestyle, enjoying Hiking, Cycling, Paddle Boarding, and of course Pilates. When not exercising you will find Susan in the garden tending to her ever expanding collection of plants!
